Our Story

In 1985, Les Entreprises JTFL began the marvellous adventure of breeding birds. Motivated by passion, they raised more than 3,000 birds, and for their efforts won a wide range of trophies and special mentions in many competitions.

With so many birds, it made sense to learn how to make cages and, there too, passion took over. The craftspeople of Les Entreprises JTFL developed an expertise that was the envy of all. For over 25 years, they have improved their art to the point of becoming specialists in fine soldering. They have used sheet metal and wrought iron for their pieces, and have integrated brass, stainless steel and copper, as well as wood, glass and other materials Their studio has become a creative laboratory, and the pieces that emerge from it are truly original.

Their field of competence expanded. From the simplest cages, they went on a conquest to commercialize aviaries and, about 20 years ago, started marketing apartment aviaries that revolutionized domestic birdcages in Québec. These aviaries spread from pet shops to shopping centres, hotels, and luxury homes and residences. JTFL worked for zoos, universities, governments, with audacious architects and designers. Their work and ideas flourished.

This small business practised in a fairly artisanal way until 2003. This was when they decided to try out the industrial park of the beautiful little town of St-Esprit, right at the intersection of Hwys 25 and 125/158 - 45 minutes from Montréal, 35 minutes from Laval, 20 minutes from Joliette and right near the magnificent Rawdon Falls. There, they built a new studio with an office, factory, new pet facility and showroom.

We hope the various pages and links on our site will encourage you to commission new and different projects to keep us on our toes.
